James Rodriguez tells Jose Mourinho 'I want to stay at Real Madrid'

Looking to strengthen His attacking, Jose Mourinho will undoubtedly bids for players to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League before the end of the season. Here's what's doing the rounds today...

Manchester United's hopes of adding James Rodriguez to their attacking ranks have been quashed by the player himself.

Since Colombia international James has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after failing to nail down a starting role under Zinedine Zidane, with United and Chelsea considered the favourites to sign him.

However, speaking after Real's 3-0 win over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night, Rodriguez said: "Real Madrid is the club I dreamed about. And here I am living that dream.

He continued..."I'm where I always wanted to be. The Bernabeu chanting my name was like a dream."

Rodriguez's valuation is thought to be around £70 million.

Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay will only be allowed to go to Everton on a permanent deal, reports The Sun.

United, want to recoup the £25 million they originally paid for the Dutchman and will refuse a loan deal - especially to a close rival.

Depay has already turned down the chance of a switch to Fenerbache in the hope of staying in the Premier League.

Ben Brereton
United are plotting a move for Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton. The Mirror believes Jose Mourinho is keen to snap up the talented 17 year-old.

United have announced that Sam Johnstone has joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season and that Joel Castro Pereira has returned to Old Trafford after a spell with Belenenses.

And finally (for now), The Daily Star is reporting how 'Italian journalist and transfer guru Tancredi Palmeri' believes Mourinho has convinced the powers that be at Old Trafford to splash £38 million on Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
